The Rhino 200DS uses a bottom-aligned bore at the 6 o'clock position, directing recoil closer to the shooter's hand. This low-bore design is intended to reduce muzzle rise, and it is complemented by a shrouded 2-inch steel barrel that keeps the profile compact.
The frame is 7075-T6 aluminum alloy with a matte black finish, paired with a blued/black cylinder. The six-shot cylinder features a flat-sided, hexagonal profile, swings out to the left, and uses a fully shrouded ejector rod for a clean, snag-resistant exterior.
The revolver operates DA/SA with an external cocking lever that is bobbed and returns forward after cocking, consistent with the Rhino's distinctive firing mechanism layout. A one-piece black textured "small" grip provides a secure hold in a compact footprint.
Sight alignment is straightforward with a red fiber-optic front blade and a fixed rear notch/channel. The right side of the frame carries the Chiappa Rhino outline logo, and the revolver bears Italian proof house markings and "Chiappa Firearms USA, Dayton, OH" importer information, reflecting its Italian manufacture and U.S. import.
