This Super Target pairs a stainless steel slide and frame with a 5 inch Government-pattern barrel, standard barrel bushing, and GI-style recoil spring plug. The non-railed frame keeps the classic profile while the build remains all-stainless for durability and balance. It is single-action only and full-size, consistent with a competition-oriented 1911 layout introduced by SIG around 2014.
The sighting system is set up for precision: a green fiber-optic front blade, a fully adjustable black serrated rear sight, and a flat, serrated top rib to reduce glare. The slide carries rear cocking serrations only and a polished SIG medallion, reinforcing the clean, target-driven configuration.
Controls and geometry are tuned for confident handling. An upswept beavertail grip safety with memory pad and an extended left-side thumb safety support consistent, high-grip shooting. The front strap and flat mainspring housing are checkered (factory 25 LPI/20 LPI per model documentation) for secure traction. A skeletonized, lightened trigger and a skeletonized commander-style hammer complete the firing controls.
The light-colored hardwood target grips feature deep checkering, palm swells, and SIG medallions. They extend to form a flared magazine well funnel to speed reloads. Capacity is 8+1, and this pistol includes two 8-round magazines to get started.
Markings include "SIG SAUER INC., EXETER-NH-USA" on the frame and ".45 AUTO" on the barrel hood, aligning with its U.S. manufacture and .45 ACP chambering.
