This German-made Sig Sauer Mosquito is a DA/SA, hammer-fired .22 LR pistol built as a P-series trainer at roughly 90% of P226 scale. It features a 3.9 inch fixed steel barrel, an integral accessory rail, and adjustable 3-dot sights with a high-visibility yellow front. Marked "MADE IN GERMANY" with German proofs and Exeter, NH import marking, this discontinued model later continued in concept as the GSG FireFly.

The Mosquito uses a blowback-operated, DA/SA system with an external hammer, combining a decocking lever and slide-mounted manual safety for versatile control. Additional safety features include a magazine disconnect and an internal key lock.
The fixed 3.9 inch steel barrel supports reliable rimfire performance. Sights are a 3-dot contrast set, with a yellow front sight for quick reference and an adjustable rear sight for zeroing.
The polymer frame has wraparound texturing for secure handling. The slide includes rear serrations, and the dust cover integrates an accessory rail for mounting a light.
Origin and markings include "MADE IN GERMANY," DE and eagle/N proofs, a two-letter "BA" code, and the "SIG SAUER INC – EXETER, NH" import mark. The model is discontinued by SIG; the design concept continued as the GSG FireFly.
