The Echelon 4.0C is the compact configuration in Springfield’s Echelon series, pairing a 4-inch slide and barrel with a high-capacity 9mm frame. The polymer grip uses an aggressive wraparound texture and interchangeable backstraps to tailor fit, and the dustcover carries a three-slot Picatinny rail for lights or other accessories.
Its VIS (Variable Interface System) direct-mount optics interface is designed to accept micro sights via indexing pins and screws. This pistol arrives with a Viridian RFX11 already installed, delivering a crisp 3 MOA green dot on the RMSc footprint for rapid indexing and a clear sight picture.
Controls are modern and user-focused: bilateral slide stop levers and a reversible, button-style magazine release support both left- and right-handed operation. The slide wears deep front and rear serrations for confident manipulation, and it is marked with the Springfield Armory crossed-cannons crest along with ECHELON and SPRINGFIELD ARMORY rollmarks.
The striker-fired action uses a flat-faced trigger with an integral safety tab, complemented by a trigger safety system. A serialized, removable Central Operating Group (fire-control chassis) anchors the design, enabling robust internal architecture within the polymer frame.
The hammer-forged, nitride-treated steel barrel provides durability in a compact 4.0-inch length. Capacity is 18+1 rounds, and the included magazines provide a mix of flush-fit and extended baseplate formats as noted. Iron sights are installed, and the slide bears proof and import markings of HS Produkt – Made in Croatia.
