The PF-9 uses a double-action-only, hammer-fired, locked-breech short-recoil system with a long, consistent trigger pull. Internal safety features include a hammer block and firing-pin safety, complemented by the inherent security of the long DAO trigger. All primary controls are positioned on the left side, with a push-button magazine release, slide stop, and takedown pin.
Designed for discreet carry, the pistol measures approximately 5.85 inches in overall length, 4.3 inches in height, and 0.88 inches in width, with an unloaded weight of about 12.7 oz. The 3.1-inch barrel and single-stack design deliver a 7+1 capacity, and the included magazines feature witness holes numbered 2-7 along with finger-extension baseplates for a fuller grip.
Construction emphasizes strength and light weight: the slide and barrel are 4140 steel, the internal frame is 7075-T6 aluminum, and the grip housing is DuPont ST-8018 high-impact polymer in a light gray finish. The hammer is external, and the extractor is external as well, with rear slide serrations for confident manipulation.
Sight alignment is straightforward and serviceable, with a 3-dot setup: a fixed front blade with a white dot and a windage-adjustable rear sight with white dots, adjusted via a 5/64-inch Allen screw.
