The Rimfire Target is part of Kimber's 1911 Rimfire series and retains the familiar full-size 1911 format. The frame is aluminum alloy with a black anodized finish, paired with a matching black anodized slide. The right side of the slide is marked "RIMFIRE TARGET," the left carries the script "Kimber" logo, and the frame is marked "KIMBER MFG YONKERS NY USA."
It runs a single-action, semi-automatic system with a 5 in stainless steel barrel and a 10+1 capacity. Safety features include a thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety. The trigger is skeletonized and lightened, and the hammer is a skeletonized Commander-style unit.
Target-focused sighting is provided by a fixed front blade in a dovetail and a fully adjustable rear target sight. The sight radius is approximately 6.8 in. Slide manipulation is aided by both front and rear slanted serrations. The front strap is smooth, and the mainspring housing is grooved.
Additional details include a standard, non-railed dust cover and black double-diamond checkered synthetic grip panels. By design, the slide does not lock open after the last round. The magazines included are .22 LR with metal bodies.
