Chambered in .45 ACP, the FNX-45 Tactical uses a double-action/single-action operating system with an ambidextrous safety/decocker, allowing either cocked-and-locked or decocked carry and first-shot use. The external ring-style hammer and fully ambidextrous controls support confident handling.
Its 5.3-inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel is extended and threaded .578x28 TPI, and includes a thread protector. The 1:16-inch right-hand twist supports a wide range of .45 ACP loads.
The optics-ready slide features a cover plate, front and rear cocking serrations, and an external extractor. Suppressor-height 3-dot night sights are intended to co-witness with a mounted MRDS, delivering a ready-to-configure sighting setup.
The black polymer frame includes aggressive checkering with FN medallions and an interchangeable backstrap system for fit tuning. A MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail with four slots accommodates lights or lasers. Capacity is 10+1, and the included magazines are steel construction.
