The P322 uses a fixed-barrel blowback, single-action-only system with an internal (enclosed) hammer and a flat-faced trigger. This setup delivers a consistent single-action pull and direct barrel-to-frame alignment typical of fixed-barrel .22 LR pistols.
The pistol features ambidextrous manual safeties and a reversible magazine release to accommodate various shooter preferences. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation, while a left-side slide catch provides familiar control placement.
Green fiber-optic sights are included: a bright front and a fully adjustable rear for precise elevation and windage changes. The integral 3-slot accessory rail on the dustcover accepts compatible lights or accessories.
