The M&P 5.7 TS uses Smith & Wesson's Tempo gas-operated locked-breech, two-part barrel system, combined with an internal hammer-fired action. Its 5-inch stainless steel barrel wears a durable Armornite finish and is threaded 1/2x28 to support compatible muzzle devices, with a 1:9 twist for 5.7x28mm loads.
The Armornite black slide includes forward and rear serrations, longitudinal lightening cuts, and an optics cut. Steel 3-dot sights (single-dot front, two-dot rear) provide a clear sight picture, with a 7.125-inch sight radius for longer reference.
Controls are user-friendly and adaptable, featuring a manual thumb safety, ambidextrous slide stop levers, and a reversible magazine release. A flat-face trigger promotes a straight press. The full-size polymer frame in black includes an accessory rail to support the installed weapon light.
