The Secure Action system uses an internal hammer in a locked-breech, hammer-fired design. The trigger has a short reset for quick follow-up shots. Safety features include an integrated trigger safety, a manual thumb safety, a neutrally balanced sear, and a hammer catch. The pistol will fire with the magazine removed, as it does not use a magazine disconnect.
Ruger’s Lite Rack system reduces the effort required to run the slide and adds practical handling aids. The slide incorporates deep rear serrations, rear cocking ears, and lightening windows near the muzzle. Both the slide and barrel are through-hardened alloy steel with a black oxide finish.
The sighting system is all steel, pairing a green fiber-optic front with a drift-adjustable rear that includes a vertical ledge. The compact glass-filled nylon frame keeps weight down and includes molded Ruger logo grips. A push-button magazine release provides familiar, straightforward operation.
