The Magnum variant of the Ruger Precision Rimfire is chambered in .17 HMR and supports the Ruger BX-15 Magnum and JMX-1 magazine families. This rifle offers a 15+1 capacity and is marked on the receiver "RUGER PRECISION - MAYODAN, NC - USA," indicating US manufacture.
The 18-inch 4140 steel barrel is cold hammer-forged with a heavy profile for rigidity. It is threaded 1/2-28 TPI at the muzzle and cut with a 1:9 RH twist suited to common .17 HMR loads.
The chassis uses a glass-filled nylon frame with an adjustable stock featuring a 12.0 length of pull, adjustable cheekpiece, rubber buttpad, integrated bag rider, and a QD sling socket. An AR-style pistol grip with Ruger branding is installed, and a two-position safety is fitted.
A 15-inch free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard provides accessory mounting while keeping the barrel isolated. The receiver carries a 0-MOA Picatinny scope base specific to the magnum model, and a front sling-swivel stud sits under the handguard. Ruger’s Big-Gun bolt-throw adjustment feature is included.
