What’s Included
- Thompson Center Hawken .45 caliber percussion rifle
- Under-barrel ramrod
The 28 inch octagonal steel barrel is crowned and marked for black powder use only, with clear Thompson/Center Arms Rochester, New Hampshire .45 Cal Hawken rollmarks. The hooked breech/tang system allows straightforward takedown for cleaning and maintenance while preserving the rifle’s traditional profile.
The percussion sidelock uses an external hammer and integral snail/bolster, paired with double-set, adjustable triggers for precise let-off. The open-sight arrangement includes a dovetailed front blade and an adjustable rear sight with windage and elevation settings, supporting fine zeroing with round ball or conical loads.
American walnut is used for the half-stock, which includes a cheekpiece and an inletted patchbox with a round hinged lid set into a serpentine brass base plate. Brass furniture—buttplate, patchbox, trigger guard, and ramrod thimbles—paired with a blued steel nosecap and German silver wedge escutcheons adds durability and a period-correct look. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches for a comfortable, classic fit.
Factory scroll engraving on the lockplate and hammer adds a distinctive touch. The rifle is a single-shot percussion reproduction with a blued barrel and tang and a color case-hardened lock and hammer, an under-barrel ramrod retained by two pipes, and a capacity of one round, true to the Hawken style and purpose-built for black powder shooting.
