The New Model Single-Six uses a single-action mechanism with Ruger’s transfer-bar safety system. An external hammer with a wide, serrated spur provides positive control. The right-side loading gate and under-barrel ejector rod with a crescent-style button support straightforward loading and case ejection, and the cylinder is fluted for a classic Ruger profile.
The 6.5-inch steel barrel pairs with an adjustable square-notch rear sight and a ramped blade front sight. This sight setup allows the shooter to dial in elevation and windage to match ammunition and distance.
Blued steel is used for the barrel and the six-shot cylinder, complemented by walnut grip panels featuring Ruger medallions. Factory markings include the left-frame rollmark "RUGER .22 CAL. NEW MODEL SINGLE-SIX." and a barrel marked with the Ruger Southport, Conn. U.S.A. address and warning text.
