This first-generation Springfield Armory XD-9 4" Service Model stands out with its HS Produkt Croatian manufacture, forged steel slide with Melonite finish, and hammer-forged barrel. It features matching serial numbers on the slide, barrel hood, and frame window, an installed red fiber-optic front sight, and an ambidextrous magazine release. An adhesive grip-tape overlay is installed on the grip, and one 16-round steel magazine is included.

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

Built by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported by Springfield Armory, this first-generation XD-9 Service Model is the classic 4-inch, full-size configuration chambered in 9mm Luger with a 16+1 capacity. It retains the original XD design language with an integral accessory rail on the dustcover and a durable black polymer frame.
The forged steel slide wears a matte Melonite finish, paired with a hammer-forged steel barrel also treated with Melonite for corrosion and wear resistance. Front and rear cocking serrations provide a secure grasp, and the slide is cut for dovetailed sights. A top-mounted loaded-chamber indicator provides a visual and tactile check of chamber status.
Sight alignment is quick with the installed red fiber-optic front sight and a plain rear notch, both in dovetails. Controls include an ambidextrous magazine release, and the frame incorporates an integral accessory rail for lights or other compatible rail-mounted equipment.
Safety features include a grip safety, trigger safety, loaded-chamber indicator, and a striker-status indicator. Markings include SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S.A., SPRINGFIELD INC. GENESEO, IL, MADE IN CROATIA, and the SA crest. The slide, barrel hood, and frame window show matching serial numbers, and an adhesive grip-tape overlay is installed to enhance traction.
