The VK-1 uses a proprietary self-regulating short-stroke piston system paired with a long, approximately 22.5° carrier cam path that delays unlocking. This design is built on forged AR-15 upper and lower receivers and includes a forward assist, case deflector, and dust cover.
The 10.5-inch barrel is cold hammer forged from 41V45 CMV steel, QPQ/nitride treated, and features an M4 extension with extended feed ramps. It is threaded 1/2x28 with a 1:7 RH twist and ships with an open-prong flash hider.
Controls are user-focused: a fully ambidextrous lower with selector and bolt catch/release featuring chevron texturing, a standard magazine release, and a Radian Raptor-LT ambidextrous charging handle with VKTR branding.
The free-float, low-profile aluminum M-LOK handguard integrates a continuous T-marked top Picatinny rail. Ergonomics are rounded out by a Magpul polymer pistol grip and an SB Tactical adjustable pistol stabilizing brace.
