This Stealth Arms Platypus 17 is a recent-release, USA-made, full-size 1911-platform pistol in 9mm that accepts Glock 17–pattern magazines. It pairs a Government-length 5-inch 416R stainless bushing barrel with an aluminum-alloy frame, a full-length accessory rail, and a slide cut for optics with a cover plate installed. Ambidextrous safeties, a beavertail grip safety, sights, and a flared magwell round out a feature set aimed at practical performance.

The Platypus 17 blends a 1911 single-action, hammer-fired operating system with magazine compatibility for Glock 17–pattern magazines (OEM Gen3–Gen5). This configuration delivers a 31+1 capacity with the included extended magazine while retaining familiar 1911 controls and trigger characteristics.
The barrel is a Government-length 5-inch 416R stainless unit with a traditional bushing setup. The slide features an optic cut at the rear with a cover plate installed, plus front and rear grasping areas. A green fiber-optic front sight pairs with a black rear sight.
The aluminum-alloy frame incorporates a full-length accessory rail on the dustcover, integral texturing on the frontstrap and grip panels, and a flared magwell with the SA logo for smoother reloads. The grip angle is 17.5°, and the frame wears a multi-tone finish.
Controls include an extended ambidextrous thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety. A skeletonized hammer and a skeletonized trigger contribute to a responsive, 1911-style trigger feel. The package includes both a 31-round and a 19-round magazine, along with the factory soft case and manual.
