The Black Mamba configuration builds on the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 frame with push-button takedown, combining Volquartsen's LLV upper and competition-focused components for a fast, controllable rimfire pistol. It uses a semi-automatic, blowback action with right-side ejection and a rear charging handle for easy manipulation, plus a manual thumb safety.
The LLV upper houses a 4.5 inch stainless steel match-grade barrel within a hard-anodized aluminum receiver and shroud, and a steel breech. The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 and fitted with a single-port compensator to help manage muzzle movement. The pistol presents an all-black finish with a black hard-anodized receiver.
Sighting and mounting options are purpose-built for precision. It wears a green fiber-optic front sight and an adjustable target rear sight marked "VOLQUARTSEN FIREARMS." A full-length top Picatinny rail and a forward underside accessory rail provide ready mounting surfaces. The upper is marked "Carroll, Iowa," reflecting Volquartsen's U.S. manufacture.
Ergonomics follow the 22/45 pattern with a polymer frame and wraparound rubber finger-groove grips with molded texture. Capacity is 10+1 with the included stainless steel-body magazines. Typical weight is approximately 26 oz, and the BM-prefix serial format aligns with the Black Mamba series.
