The Model 522 Viper uses a semi-automatic blowback action in .22 LR with right-side ejection and a detachable box magazine. Capacity is 10+1, and the action includes a last-round bolt hold-open for clear status at the end of a magazine.
Its construction pairs a steel barrel with a polymer receiver shell and a Rynite synthetic one-piece stock. The stock is finished in black with molded grip checkering and a hard buttplate, and the length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
Factory iron sights consist of a ramped front blade and an elevation-adjustable open rear sight on a stepped ramp.
