Product Description

Ruger New Model Blackhawk .357 Magnum Bicentennial (1976), 4.75" Barrel, Blued, Adjustable Sights, 6-Shot SA Revolver

This 1976 Ruger New Model Blackhawk is a Bicentennial-marked example chambered in .357 Magnum, distinguished by its top-barrel rollmark reading "MADE IN THE 200th YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY." It features the factory short barrel configuration, steel construction with bluing on the barrel and cylinder and in-the-white frame side flats and recoil shield from finish loss, adjustable sights, and smooth walnut grips with silver Ruger medallions. A notable U.S.-made revolver from Ruger’s Bicentennial production year, it combines collectible significance with a classic New Model feature set.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Overall Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: The revolver presents in great shape overall. The rollmarked text has been infilled with white paint. Scratches and blemishes are present, including a large patch of finish blemish over the Ruger nomenclature marking. Small deposits of pitting are visible. There is minor carbon buildup above the forcing cone and scorch marks on the cylinder, consistent with typical use.

    What’s Included

    • Ruger New Model Blackhawk .357 Magnum revolver

The Bicentennial rollmark sets this Blackhawk apart, clearly identifying it as a 1976 production gun with the top-barrel inscription "MADE IN THE 200th YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY." This factory marking provides immediate dating and adds historical context tied to the U.S. Bicentennial year.

Configured with Ruger’s factory short 4-5/8 inch barrel, this revolver pairs compact overall length with the robust New Model steel frame and bluing on the barrel and cylinder; the frame side flats and recoil shield are bright/in-the-white from finish loss. The six-shot, fluted cylinder, right-side loading gate, and under-barrel ejector rod housing reflect the Blackhawk’s traditional single-action layout.

Ruger’s New Model system includes a transfer-bar safety, and this example uses a single-action mechanism with a serrated spur hammer. Sighting is handled by a ramped square-post front and a fully adjustable rear sight featuring a square-notch blade and elevation screw.

Fit and finish details include smooth walnut grip panels accented by silver Ruger medallions. Built in the United States, this Blackhawk delivers the classic .357 Magnum chambering in a collectible 1976 Bicentennial-marked package.
