Built as the commercial counterpart to the K5, the DP51 combines service-pistol reliability with a unique trigger system. U.S. importation occurred circa 1990–1997, and this pistol bears the DAVIDSON'S PRESCOTT, AZ import mark alongside the MADE IN KOREA rollmark and 9mm PARA chamber marking.
The DA/SA mechanism with Fast Action (Triple Action) is a standout feature, allowing the hammer to be set for a light initial press while retaining a double-action-length stroke. It uses a short-recoil action, an external spurred hammer, a push-button magazine release, and integrated safety features including a manual safety and a firing pin block.
Construction is robust and purpose-built: a 4.1-inch 4150 steel barrel, a matte-anodized 7075-T6 aluminum alloy frame, and a matte black slide with anti-glare serrations along the top. Fixed iron sights include a white-dot front blade and a fixed square-notch rear, and the full-size format supports a double-stack 13+1 capacity.
The DP51 is compatible with Smith & Wesson 59-series magazines, which may protrude slightly. Three 13-round steel magazines are included. The original case is present; it is broken but provided.
