The DD5 V4 is chambered in 7.62x51 NATO and built on the AR-10 platform with a semi-automatic, direct impingement operating system. It uses an 18-inch cold hammer forged steel barrel with a chrome-lined S2W profile and a 1:10 twist, optimized for durability and consistent performance. The barrel is threaded and fitted with a three-port muzzle brake.
A two-position adjustable gas block (suppressed/unsuppressed) is adjustable through the handguard, allowing quick tuning to ammo and use case. The free-floating aluminum M-LOK handguard is secured with Daniel Defense's DD5 4-Bolt Connection System for rigidity, and a continuous T-marked 1913 top rail provides uninterrupted mounting space. A short 6 o'clock M-LOK Picatinny section is installed for accessories.
The enhanced BCG features a superfinished/DLC-coated carrier for smooth operation, paired with a dual-ejector bolt for robust extraction. The rifle accepts SR-25 pattern magazines and has a 20+1 capacity. One 20-round Magpul PMAG GEN M3 is included.
Controls are ambidextrous, including a safety selector and a right-side bolt catch/release for efficient manipulation. The stock is a collapsible polymer unit with QD sling sockets and a rubber buttpad, and the grip is textured polymer. The rifle wears a tan/brown Cerakote finish and is made in the USA.
