The Mark IV Target uses a fixed 5.5-inch bull barrel that is factory threaded and fitted with a knurled thread protector. The straight blowback, semi-automatic action and cylindrical bolt deliver the classic Mark-series operating feel, with right-side ejection.
Controls and ergonomics include a button-style magazine release and a manual thumb safety. The standard (non-22/45) grip frame is paired with black checkered grip panels featuring Ruger's red-eagle medallions. Capacity is 10+1 rounds of .22 LR.
Sight geometry is set up for precision with a fully adjustable rear sight and a red fiber-optic front in a ramped base. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and a Picatinny/Weaver rail is installed with two screws.
Markings include "TARGET" on the right side and "RUGER MARK IV 22LR PRESCOTT AZ USA" on the left. The barrel carries the standard "READ INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE USING FIREARM." warning.
