It uses a five-shot fluted cylinder and operates in double-action/single-action with an exposed, checkered hammer spur. The ejector rod has a knurled tip, and the cylinder latch is checkered for positive control.
The 3-inch steel barrel has a partial underlug and a pinned fiber-optic front ramp. The rear sight is a fixed groove in the topstrap, providing a straightforward, durable sight picture. The barrel is factory-marked "The Judge," aligning with the series designation.
Construction is all steel throughout the frame, cylinder, and barrel, finished in a polished blued/black-oxide. Proof and import markings include Made in Brazil and Taurus International Mfg., Miami, FL. A matching assembly number is present on the crane.
