The XD 4" Service Model is a full-size .40 S&W with a 4-inch, hammer-forged steel barrel treated with Melonite for durability. The slide also wears a Melonite finish and features front and rear serrations for confident manipulation.
Built on a black polymer frame, the pistol incorporates ambidextrous magazine releases and molded grip panels marked with "SA-XD." It uses a single captured recoil spring on a full-length guide rod for consistent cycling.
Safety and status features include a trigger safety, grip safety, loaded chamber indicator, and striker status indicator. A top-mounted loaded chamber indicator provides immediate visual and tactile confirmation.
Fixed 3-dot white sights are dovetailed front and rear. Capacity is 12+1 with .40 S&W, and this example includes four 12-round magazines. It also has an accessory rail for mounting a compatible light or laser.
Manufactured by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported/marketed by Springfield Armory, Inc., the pistol carries the correct "SPRINGFIELD INC.
