What’s Included
- Kokura Arsenal Type 99 Short Rifle converted to .30-06
Produced at Kokura Arsenal in Japan during the WWII era, this Short Rifle variant is identified by the stacked-cannonballs emblem and Japanese model script on the receiver ring. The chrysanthemum crest has been ground/defaced, aligning with rifles surrendered at the end of the war.
The conversion to .30-06 Springfield is confirmed by the chamber stamp. It retains the original internal 5-round box magazine loaded by stripper clip, for a capacity of 5+1, and preserves the rifle’s original operating characteristics.
The bolt-action system is cock-on-closing and uses a large knurled rear disc safety knob. Sighting equipment includes a protected front post and a tangent/ladder rear sight with fold-out anti-aircraft wings for elevation and rapid reference.
Furniture and hardware include a full-length hardwood stock with a full-length upper handguard, two barrel bands, side sling swivels, and a steel buttplate. The nose cap incorporates a bayonet lug for the Type 30 bayonet. Additional features include a straight bolt handle, a gas relief port on the left receiver wall, and a 25.9 in barrel.
