    What’s Included

    • Herter's Model J-9 .270 Win bolt-action rifle

Built on a commercial Mauser 98–pattern action, this J-9 uses controlled-round feed and a full-length external claw extractor. The internal magazine holds 3+1 rounds, aligning with the classic Mauser configuration and ensuring reliable cycling with .270 Winchester.

The rifle carries a 24-inch blued steel sporter-contour barrel and no iron sights. The receiver is drilled and tapped for optics, providing a straightforward path to mounting a scope if desired.

The walnut Monte Carlo stock includes a rollover cheekpiece for a steady cheek weld, a ventilated recoil pad with black spacer, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches. The barrel and receiver wear a blued finish, while the bolt body is polished bright (in‑the‑white); the bolt handle and shroud are blued.

Receiver and barrel markings include "HERTER'S, INC. WASECA, MINN." and "INTERARMS ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA," reflecting the Herter's branding and Interarms import lineage. Country of origin is Yugoslavia, produced by Zastava during the 1960s–1970s commercial export period.

The bore presents as excellent, with a clean, mirror finish and sharp lands and grooves—consistent with careful use. Combined with the controlled-feed action and sporter configuration, this J-9 offers a classic Mauser-based hunting rifle profile in a versatile .270 Win chambering.
