Made in 1953, this Field Grade Model 12 retains its period configuration: a 30 inch plain round barrel with a fixed FULL choke and a single brass bead front sight. The barrel is rollmarked "Winchester Proof Steel," and the gun uses right-side ejection with bottom-loading via the tubular magazine.
The action is Winchester’s renowned pump with an internal hammer and no trigger disconnector, making it slam-fire capable. It employs the Model 12 takedown system with collar and alignment marks for convenient transport and maintenance.
Construction is all steel with a polished blued finish on the receiver and barrel. Furniture includes an uncheckered walnut pistol-grip stock with a solid rubber recoil pad and a grooved walnut corncob fore-end. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
This example is configured for 2 3/4 inch shells and a stated capacity of 6+1 rounds. An aftermarket front sling swivel stud has been installed in the magazine cap for carry setup flexibility.
