The P226 platform was developed for the U.S. XM9 trials and later saw wide adoption by law-enforcement and military units. This R-model retains that proven foundation while adding a railed frame for mounting lights or other accessories, paired with a durable black hard-anodized aluminum alloy frame and a matte black slide.
The E2 one-piece polymer grip is designed to reduce trigger reach, improving control for a range of hand sizes without sacrificing the full-size feel. An external spurred hammer and a decocking lever support its DA/SA operation, with a short-recoil system that delivers consistent cycling.
Sights are fixed 3-dot, with metal dovetailed front and rear units for a solid, service-grade sight picture. The slide features rear serrations for confident manipulation. The 4.4 inch barrel and full-size geometry support the platform’s balance and shootability.
