Built as a micro-size 9mm, the Pocket Nine pairs a 3-inch barrel with a slim, single-column 6+1 layout. This example is a 1999 production gun from Colt's Hartford, USA facility, marked on the slide 'POCKET NINE — SERIES 90' with the Colt Hartford address on the frame. The model code is CP9000, and production was short-lived in the late 1990s, making this variant comparatively uncommon.
The action is double-action-only and hammer-fired, with a bobbed, spurless hammer intended to minimize snag potential. It incorporates the Series 90 passive firing-pin safety and has no external manual safety. The magazine release is on the left side and the pistol uses a single-column detachable box magazine.
Sight configuration is fixed and low-profile with high-contrast dots: a yellow-green dot on the front blade and red dots on the rear notch. The slide presents rear cocking serrations only and a matte anti-glare top rib for a clean sight picture. Finish details include two-tone slide flats with a brushed sheen and a matte top, set over a dark matte frame.
Ergonomics are enhanced by wraparound black textured rubber grips with Pachmayr medallions.
The overall presentation aligns with the Pocket Nine's design goals as a streamlined, easily carried 9mm from Colt's Series 90 line, and this example's NP serial prefix is consistent with the late-1990s production period.
