It uses a long-stroke gas-piston, semi-automatic action and feeds from a detachable 10-round PSL-pattern steel magazine, giving a 10+1 capacity.
The 24.4 in barrel is equipped with a PSL-pattern multi-chamber slotted muzzle brake. Sighting is via an AK-type tangent rear sight and a protected front post set on a tall tower with lightening holes. A Warsaw Pact left-side optics rail is installed, and this rifle includes a side-mounted Russian PSO/POSP-pattern scope and mount, with the scope bearing a Cyrillic "Made in Russia" marking.
Furniture is classic PSL: two-piece hardwood handguards with a ventilated lower (three elongated slots) and a smooth upper gas-tube cover. The hardwood, lacquered skeleton/thumbhole stock integrates a pistol grip, features a rear lightening cut, and is fitted with a ribbed steel buttplate. Length of pull is 12.5 inches.
