Professionally Sporterized by C.O. Loveland. This build retains the robust U.S. Model 1903 action while converting it into a streamlined sporting rifle. The receiver ring is drilled and tapped with two holes, and the rifle uses an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate for a 5+1 capacity.
The metal shows a polished gloss blue/black finish across the barreled action.
The barrel is a 27.5 in sporter profile and is marked "C.O. LOVELAND." There are no barrel-mounted open sights, keeping the sighting system focused on the receiver-mounted Lyman micrometer aperture sight. This setup provides fine adjustment capability from the left side of the receiver.
The bolt is polished bright and engine-turned, with a turned-down handle. Controls include the traditional wing safety and a magazine cut-off. The action maintains the dependable characteristics associated with the high-number Rock Island 1903 receiver.
The custom walnut sporter stock is configured for right-hand use and features a shadow-line cheekpiece. It is finished with a black grip cap and a black serrated buttplate, each set off by white-line spacers. Length of pull measures 13.5 in, offering a balanced fit in a classic sporter profile.
