The pre-64 Featherweight configuration features a Mauser-style controlled-round-feed action with a large claw extractor, an open-top receiver, and a right-side round-knob bolt handle. It uses an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate and an approximate 5+1 capacity.
The 22-inch light-contour steel barrel is blued and correctly marked with Featherweight nomenclature and the rollmark "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL." Winchester WP oval proof marks are present, and the rifle retains a hooded ramp front sight.
The receiver is blued steel and factory drilled and tapped, with scope bases and Weaver rings installed. The action includes a three-position wing safety and a firing pin block as specified.
The walnut stock presents point-pattern cut checkering, a checkered steel buttplate, sling swivels, and a checkered pistol grip, reflecting the classic Featherweight style from the late 1950s. This rifle was made in the United States in 1959.
