Browning Citori Grade VI Ducks Unlimited 20 Gauge O/U, 26 in Special Steel Barrels, 3 in Chambers, Coin-Finish Receiver with Gold Duck and Buckmark Inlays (1985)
This Browning Citori Grade VI Ducks Unlimited commemorative is a limited-edition 1985 release identifiable by its "DU85" serial suffix. It features a coin-finished, factory-engraved receiver with scrollwork and gold-inlaid flying duck motifs, paired with upgraded, highly figured walnut. Its 26-inch Special Steel barrels have a ventilated rib and are chambered for both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. The shotgun remains in excellent condition and presents as a standout example for Browning and Ducks Unlimited collectors.
Built in Japan during the 1980s, this Grade VI Ducks Unlimited edition blends refined aesthetics with Citori fundamentals. The receiver’s coin finish sets off the Grade VI engraving, with gold ducks on the flanks and a gold Browning Buckmark on the underside. The gold-colored single trigger and tang-mounted safety/selector continue the cohesive, upscale presentation.
The wood is an upgraded, highly figured walnut set with a high-gloss finish. A pistol grip, beavertail forend, and fine checkering provide a classic Browning feel. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, and there is a very slight cast-off. The forend iron is numbered "00231" and matches the main serial sequence.
The 26-inch Special Steel barrels feature a ventilated rib with a single front bead and are marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q., MADE IN JAPAN, SPECIAL STEEL 20GA-2 3/4 AND 3-26." Chambers accept both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. The included Browning Invector 20-gauge choke tube and factory spanner add practical flexibility.
Condition highlights support careful use and proper fit: the top lever shows ample locking lug life, barrel fit is tight, ejectors are timed, and firing pins are in good condition. Overall presentation aligns with its collectible status as a Grade VI Ducks Unlimited 1985 edition.
