The XD-40 Sub-Compact is a striker-fired, locked-breech design chambered in .40 S&W, pairing a forged stainless slide with a 3 in hammer-forged steel barrel. Its bi-tone stainless/black finish and molded SA-XD logo grip texture deliver the classic XD look in a compact footprint.
Sight alignment is handled by dovetailed fixed 3-dot sights with white dots. A top-mounted loaded-chamber indicator and a striker-status indicator provide clear at-a-glance status checks. Controls include a push-button magazine release.
Safety features are fully integrated and passive: a grip safety, trigger safety, and internal striker block, complemented by the visible/tactile loaded-chamber indicator and striker-status indicator.
