The bore shows excellent rifling, and the rifle presents as a solid, collectible example with useful modifications.

Built by Fabrique Nationale for the Spanish contract, this Model 1893 uses the classic small-ring Mauser receiver with a left-side gas-escape port. Its two-lug, cock-on-close action reflects the original 1893 pattern, which does not include the later 1898 third safety lug.
The rifle retains its military long-rifle configuration: a 29-inch barrel, full-length hardwood stock with straight grip, steel buttplate, two barrel bands, and sling swivels. A short handguard surrounds the rear sight. Capacity is 5+1 in 8mm Mauser.
Sighting equipment remains intact with an unhooded front blade and a tangent/ladder rear sight. The receiver has been drilled and tapped and is fitted with two-piece cross-slot scope bases, offering mounting flexibility while preserving the original irons.
Construction details include a forged steel, blued receiver and overall blued finish. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches, providing a traditional military stock fit.
Additional notes: the bolt is non-matching to the receiver, and the cleaning rod is not present.
