This LCP is the original, pre-LCP II configuration, identified as Model/Part No. 03701 and produced in 2008 within the early 370- serial block. It reflects the initial release features that many buyers look for when seeking a first-generation example.
The action is hammer-fired, double-action-only with a locked-breech, recoil-operated system. It uses a push-button magazine release and has a manual slide hold-open, with no last-round lockback. Capacity is 6+1 using the included single-stack magazines.
The slide and barrel are alloy steel with a black oxide finish. The frame is glass-filled nylon polymer with an aluminum subframe, providing strength with minimal weight in a micro-size format. The slide has rear-only vertical serrations.
Sights are fixed, low-profile, and integral to the slide, with an integral front blade and rear notch. Additional details include checkered grip panels with Ruger phoenix medallion inserts and a barrel hood marked ".380 AUTO." An installed LaserLyte red laser complements the fixed sights for quick aiming.
