What’s Included
- Sig Sauer SIG 556 SWAT rifle (5.56 NATO)
- Four 30-round magazines (combination of USGI-pattern aluminum and Troy Industries BattleMag polymer magazines with pull-tab baseplates)
The SWAT configuration equips this rifle with an aluminum quad-rail handguard featuring T/L/R/B-numbered rails and a full-length 12 o'clock Picatinny rail that runs across the receiver and handguard. A folding front sight is integrated at the gas block, and a front sling loop is positioned at the gas block. No rear sight is included.
Its operating system is a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston with a two-position adjustable gas regulator for tuning to conditions. The rifle uses a right-side, reciprocating charging handle and a manual safety. It accepts standard AR-15/STANAG magazines, and this example comes with a mix of USGI-pattern and Troy BattleMag magazines.
The 16-inch barrel is threaded and fitted with a 3-prong flash hider. The collapsible, carbine-style stock provides compact handling, with an 11.0-inch length of pull noted. The ribbed 55X-style pistol grip delivers a familiar 55X-series feel.
Construction details include a steel upper receiver finished in black Nitron and a 7075-T6 aluminum lower with a black hard-coat anodized finish. This U.S.-made rifle features early SIGARMS (Exeter, NH) receiver markings and a stated capacity of 30+1.
