The VTR barrel is a defining feature: a 22 in heavy triangular-profile tube with an integral three-slot top-ported brake and no iron sights. The configuration is purpose-built and clearly marked with a large "VTR" on the top flat.
The action is a short-action Remington 700 with two front locking lugs and a round bolt knob with a checkered face. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases; plug screws are not present. The rifle uses an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate and a nominal 4-round capacity.
Remington's X-Mark Pro trigger is factory-fitted. The 1:12 RH twist is appropriate for a wide range of .308 Win loads. The barrel date code "BG" is observed on the shank, and the rifle was manufactured in 2012 in the United States.
The OD green synthetic stock includes a beavertail forend with three elongated vent slots per side, a Monte Carlo cheekpiece, and black overmolded grip panels with a Remington "R" grip-cap medallion. Sling swivel studs and a recoil pad are installed, and the length of pull measures 13.25 in.
