Produced in 1969 as part of Colt’s Golden Spike Centennial series, this Frontier Scout is a limited-edition run of approximately 11,000 revolvers. The GS serial suffix identifies it as a commemorative, and a small circular Golden Spike emblem appears on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard. The right side of the barrel is roll-marked '1869 – GOLDEN SPIKE – 1969' to mark the anniversary.
The revolver pairs a high-polish blue/black alloy frame and steel barrel with gold-plated highlights on the cylinder, ejector-rod housing, hammer, and trigger. It has a fluted six-shot cylinder, a knurled ejector head, and factory scroll-style engraving on the buttstrap cap.
Markings include the left-barrel rollmark 'COLT SINGLE ACTION FRONTIER SCOUT .22 L.R.', the top-barrel address 'COLT'S PT F A MFG CO. HARTFORD CT U.S.A.', and the right-barrel legend '1869 – GOLDEN SPIKE – 1969.' Sights are fixed, with a ramped blade front and a topstrap-groove rear, consistent with the model’s configuration.
Chambered in .22 LR with a 6 in barrel, this single-action-only Frontier Scout features smooth wood grips set with gold Colt medallions. It was made in the USA during the 1960s era and includes its fitted presentation case and period commemorative materials.
