Product Description

B.C. Miroku Model 700 Charles Daly 12 Gauge O/U, 3 inch Chambers, Coin/Grey Engraved Receiver, Vent Rib, Single Gold Trigger

This Charles Daly–imported B.C. Miroku Model 700 is a Japanese-made over/under from the late 1960s to early 1970s, notable for its factory floral-scroll engraved coin/grey receiver, 3 inch chambers, and classic field configuration. It features a ventilated, matted top rib with a single front bead, a single gold-tone trigger, and a walnut stock with beavertail forend. Matching serials are present on the key components.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Specific Condition Notes: The receiver shows some finish loss and blemishing, with pitting present on the action. Scratches and handling marks are visible. The bores are clean and shiny. The ejectors are very slightly misaligned, with the left ejector releasing slightly ahead of the right. The locking lug shows wear, preventing proper lockup.

The stock is set with a neutral cast.

    What’s Included

    • B.C. Miroku Model 700 Charles Daly import 12 Gauge over/under shotgun

Built by B.C. Miroku in Japan and imported by Charles Daly, this Model 700 pairs 12 Gauge chambers cut for 3 inch shells with a break-action over/under layout and automatic ejectors. It uses a single, gold-tone trigger with a steel guard and holds two rounds. The stock is neutral cast.

The steel receiver wears a coin/grey finish with full factory floral-scroll engraving, while the barrels are blued steel. A ventilated, matted top rib and single front bead provide a straightforward sighting plane. The tang safety is manually operated and marked with an "S" adjacent to the top lever.

The walnut furniture includes a pistol-grip stock and a beavertail forend with cut checkering for a solid hold. A Deeley-style forend latch secures the iron, and the butt is finished with a solid rubber recoil pad featuring the maker’s oval logo and a black spacer.

Markings and provenance details are clear: the underside receiver cartouche reads "MIROKU B.C. MODEL 700," and the barrel rollmarks show the maker address in Kochi, Japan along with "CHARLES DALY 12GA - 3"." Proof and inspection stamps include NP, the number 3, and multiple symbol stamps. Matching serials are found on the receiver, barrel monobloc, forend iron, and inside the forend wood. Mechanical notes include very slightly misaligned ejectors (left ejector releases slightly faster) and a worn locking lug.
