Specific Condition Notes: There is rotation wear on the cylinder consistent with use. The included Hunter leather holster is in excellent condition. The installed Pachmayr "Gripper" rubber grips are not properly secured because the retaining nut for the grip screw is missing; the screw is missing.

Built on the stainless J-frame, this Model 63 is an early six-shot "Stainless Kit Gun" configuration in .22 LR. It features a 4-inch stainless barrel, cylinder, and frame, delivering the classic lightweight, packable format associated with the Kit Gun series while maintaining durable stainless construction.
Sight regulation is handled by a pinned red-ramp front blade on a ramp base paired with a micrometer-click adjustable rear sight. The topstrap and barrel rib are serrated to cut glare. Controls include a grooved trigger face and an exposed hammer with a checkered spur and a frame-mounted firing pin.
The barrel wears a short front lug (no full underlug), and the ejector-rod tip is knurled for positive manipulation. The yoke cut is marked "MOD. 63," and the left sideplate carries the S&W logo. Rollmarks include "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS." Notably, this example has no internal lock and carries an M-prefix butt serial, consistent with early production.
Aftermarket Pachmayr "Gripper" rubber grips are installed for added purchase. Please note the grips are not properly secured, as the nut that retains the grip screw is missing; the screw itself is missing. This revolver comes with a Hunter brand leather holster; no original S&W box or case is included.
