This late-1980s Colt AR-15A2 HBAR Sporter Delta is a documented pre-ban rifle that retains the key factory Delta package elements: the Colt-marked clamp-on cheek riser secured by two screws and a rubber-armored variable-power scope mounted on an A.R.M.S. carry-handle base. It features a 20-inch heavy-profile barrel with rifle-length gas, an A2 upper with fixed carry handle, and hard-anodized aluminum receivers with the Colt Industries rollmark and SP-prefix serial, indicating pre-1990 production. The bore is excellent, and the rifle comes with multiple magazines, a sling, and a soft case.
The left magwell is marked "AR-15 A2 HBAR SPORTER" and "CAL. .223," while the right side shows "COLT'S FIREARMS DIVISION / COLT INDUSTRIES / HARTFORD, CONN., U.S.A." with SAFE/FIRE selector markings. A2-pattern features include the adjustable rear sight with elevation drum, front sight base with riveted sling swivel, forward assist, brass deflector, and ejection-port cover.
