This Pietta 1878 Coach Gun Deluxe offers a faithful, modern reproduction of the classic Old West double-barrel scattergun, pairing period-correct external hammers and a top-tang lever between the hammers with today’s steel, chrome-lined bores, and 3-inch chambers. Compact 20-inch barrels, color case–hardened lockplates with a blued/black action body/top strap and fences, and smooth Turkish walnut furniture make it equally appealing for Cowboy Action shooting and collection.

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent – Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Light scratching, scuffing, and minor blemishes are present on the metal and wood surfaces but remain purely cosmetic.

The break-action design uses a robust top-tang lever between the hammers that unlocks both 20-inch 4140 steel barrels at once. External rebounding hammers and twin triggers allow true left- and right-barrel selection without a cross-bolt safety, just as on the 1878 original.
Both barrels are fixed Cylinder Bore choked and chrome-lined for durability. Chambers are cut for 2 3/4- or 3-inch 12 gauge shells, giving you flexibility for light target loads or full-power defensive cartridges.
A blued/black 1040-steel action body/top strap and fences with color case–hardened lockplates contrasts with deeply blued barrels and a solid, serrated top rib. The straight-grip Turkish walnut stock and splinter forend keep the gun lively; overall length is about 37 inches, and weight is roughly 7 pounds.
Safety is handled by the half-cock notches and rebounding hammers, so the gun can be carried safely with both hammers down on loaded chambers. A brass bead up front provides the simple, fast sight picture traditional to coach guns.
Proofed under Italian CIP standards in 2021 and imported by K.C. LLC of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, this Deluxe series coach gun delivers vintage style backed by modern metallurgy.
