Built in the Type 2 era (1976–1992) and dated to 1990, this Grade I BAR carries desirable factory markings: Made in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale Herstal and assembled in Portugal. The barrel bears two small proof stamps and the Browning Arms Company Morgan, Utah & Montreal P.Q. / Made in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale Herstal Assembled Portugal inscription.
The gas-operated piston system with a rotating bolt is paired with a 24-inch barrel in 7mm Rem. Mag. Right-side charging and right-side ejection are standard for the platform. The detachable box magazine with a hinged floorplate provides a magnum capacity of 3+1.
Furniture includes a gloss-finished walnut stock and fore-end with cut checkering, a Browning rubber buttpad, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches. Scope mounting uses a 2+2 pattern: two tapped holes on the receiver (rear base) and two on the barrel extension ring (front base).
This rifle is selling as is and presents as a solid candidate for restoration.
