Zastava M48 8mm Mauser Bolt-Action Rifle, 24 in Barrel, Yugoslav Mauser 98-Pattern
This Yugoslav Zastava M48 is a post-WWII infantry rifle built on an intermediate-length Mauser 98-pattern action. It carries factory markings from Preduzece 44 in Kragujevac and a receiver ring crest dated "29.XI.1943" over "M48." The rifle is in very good overall condition with an excellent, mirror-bright bore.
Built with a 24-inch steel barrel and a 5-round internal box magazine, the M48 follows the proven Mauser layout with a turned-down bolt and round knob. Milled steel trigger guard and floorplate components reflect its all-steel construction and service-grade design.
Sighting is via a hooded front post paired with a tangent ladder rear sight. The full-length hardwood stock includes a side sling slot and a flat steel buttplate, and the front barrel band incorporates a bayonet lug. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
Receiver markings include the crest with "29.XI.1943" over "M48," the left-side "ФНРЈ," and "ПРЕДУЗЕЋЕ 44" on the receiver. An import stamp reading "PW ARMS REDMOND WA YUGO ZASTAVA 8mm" is present on the barrel. Country of origin is Yugoslavia, and both the receiver and barrel are steel.
