The SSG 04 uses Steyr's Safe Bolt System (SBS) with a 2+1 tang safety, delivering a robust locking system and straightforward manipulation. The right-hand bolt carries a round knob for positive control, and the single-stage adjustable trigger supports precise shot release.
Its 26.6 inch heavy-profile barrel is cold-hammer-forged and spiral-fluted, combining rigidity with reduced weight along the length. The threaded muzzle is fitted with a three-baffle brake, and the barrel is marked ".308 Win." to match the chambering.
The fiberglass-reinforced black synthetic stock offers an adjustable cheekpiece and an adjustable butt via a spacer system to fine-tune fit. Front and rear sling studs are in place; the included detachable bipod mounts to the front stud and is shown uninstalled in the photos.
