Built by Miroku in Japan for Browning in the 1990s, this Model 42 High Grade features factory scroll engraving with gold-inlaid scenes. The left side depicts two pointing dogs with a flushing bird, and the right side shows ducks in flight. The receiver and barrel wear a high-polish blued finish that complements the presentation-grade wood.
The shotgun is chambered for both 2.5- and 3-inch .410 shells and has a 4+1 capacity. It uses a 26-inch steel barrel with a ventilated rib and a fixed Full choke, giving a focused patterning profile for .410. The length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
The stock and forend are highly figured walnut with cut checkering and a gloss finish. Details include a Browning-marked buttplate and a walnut forend with diamond-panel checkering that offers a secure grasp along the ribbed barrel.
Factory markings include the Browning Arms Company Morgan, Utah & Montreal P.Q. — Made in Japan legend. This High Grade/Grade V configuration is a limited-production offering that pairs refined engraving and gold inlays with Browning’s classic small-bore pump design.
