The G1 Contender frame is factory engraved with scrollwork and a cougar head medallion motif on the receiver sides. Built on a blued steel frame and receiver, this example reflects the early Contender aesthetic and craftsmanship from the 1960s era in the United States.
The 10-inch .44 Magnum Hot Shot barrel features a vent rib and an adjustable rear notch. It is ported on the sides and fitted with a detachable Hot Shot choke, and the barrel is threaded to accept that choke system.
Furniture includes a checkered walnut target-style pistol grip and a walnut forend with diamond checkering. This setup provides the classic Contender profile with quality wood and steel throughout.
Markings include the barrel roll-mark "THOMPSON CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, N.H. 44 MAG." The pistol uses the Contender's interchangeable barrel system typical of the platform, and this example is the G1 series in full-size configuration.
