The 14.375 in barrel uses a Cyl Bore, providing a straight-walled interior with no choke constriction. The 3" Chamber accepts both 2 3/4 in and 3 in shells, and the magazine capacity is 4+1 rounds.
Controls and handling are classic Mossberg with a tang-mounted safety and dual action bars. The ribbed black polymer forend includes a MOSSBERG-embroidered hand strap for added purchase, and the birdshead-style rear grip is equipped with a sling-swivel stud. A matching front sling-swivel stud is mounted in the magazine cap.
The aluminum alloy receiver wears a flat dark earth/tan finish to match the metalwork and is drilled and tapped at the factory; plug screws are installed. Ejection is from the right side.
A single brass bead front sight provides a simple and durable aiming reference. The receiver carries the "MOSSBERG - NORTH HAVEN, CT U.S.A. - 590 12 GA." marking, and the firearm is made in the United States.
