This M&P-15 Sport is built on the AR-15 platform and chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 16-inch barrel marked "5.56 NATO 1/8 5R." The 5R rifling and 1:8 twist support a broad range of bullet weights while maintaining a clean, sharp bore.
The flat-top upper receiver provides a T-marked Picatinny rail with S&W marking, making sight and accessory placement straightforward. An A2 fixed front sight base is installed; no rear sight is included. The upper receiver includes a case deflector; the ejection-port dust cover is not present.
The barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2 birdcage flash suppressor. At the front sight base, you will find a bayonet lug and a pinned sling swivel for traditional mounting options.
Furniture includes a 6-position collapsible polymer stock with a molded S&W medallion, an A2-style pistol grip, and carbine-length two-piece polymer handguards. The rifle operates via a direct-impingement action and uses a manual safety. Capacity is 30+1, and one 30-round Magpul PMAG Gen M2 MOE magazine is included.
